My students are energetic, loving, and passionate learners. Majority of my students come from military families, who move a lot, so it is important to our class that we are a community of learners. In our classroom we are developing students intrinsic motivation through the power of choice. This not only helps students make choices based on their interests, but helps them take responsibility for their own learning. In our classroom we are using flexible seating which allows students to make a daily choice on where they will be able to do their best learning for the day. In addition to this, for our literacy learning, we use the Daily 5 model where students have a choice everyday in different literacy stations such as read to self, read to someone, word work, work on writing, and listen to reading. Our classroom loves learning!
