In order for students to be successful learners they must have a classroom environment that promotes collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. The traditional classroom consists of rows of desks that does not promote what the 21st classroom should look like. Research supports the notion that physical activity is linked to greater academic performance, which a flexible classroom can provide. We would use the rug, stand-up desk and wobble chairs to create a classroom environment the promotes students choice and will engage and motivate them as learners. I would like to involve my students in the designing what this classroom look likes for them.
