I teach kindergarten at Quil Ceda Tulalip Elementary School. Our school population is diverse, with a large number of Native American students. We begin each day with an all-school assembly led by student singers/drummers and dancers, followed by a short inspirational message. Lushootseed, the language of the Coast Salish people, is taught during the literacy block in kindergarten in whole and small group activities. I enjoy working in such a culturally rich setting and am learning to speak Lushootseed along with my students! I appreciate this opportunity to help fund more quality learning projects for my students. t'igwicid (thank you), Lisa Sablan
