I am currently teaching non-fiction texts and informational writing in my 3rd grade classroom. How awesome would it be to be able to let my students become their own author and illustrator? We are working on writing their own books. How exciting would it be if I surprised them with our own camera studio to illustrate their own stories?! By using our classroom camera, my students will become their own photographer and learn how to take pictures, edit them on their Chromebooks, and print them. They would really understand the hard work and dedication of authors. The lighting and printer will be extremely beneficial in my classroom. The students will be able to take their own photos, and illustrate their personality through important aspects of their day. Learning the skills of illustration and editing at such a young age will help my students' futures and hopefully inspire them to continue exploring with their creativity.
