Students will use the math manipulatives daily to explore number sense and place value. Students visit two stations a day for hands-on, FUN, inquiry based math stations. Students will use the hundreds chart during morning meetings to count, find patterns, add, and subtract. This year, students will have a more interactive word wall due to the pocket charts. Students can bring words to their writing center, organize words into groups, and improve their reading and spelling using the word wall. In addition, students will use the post-it notes during reading to help them focus on a specific reading strategy and record their thoughts in their books.
