Everyday the students in my class get the chance to read books of choice. In second grade students are just learning how to choose a book that is just right for them, not too easy but not too difficult. A leveled library guides their choices and offers a variety of topics that may interest each child. By the time they leave my room, my hope is that each student can make good independent book choices. A classroom library is the cornerstone of a great elementary classroom. I want students to be drawn to this area just by looking at it. A comfy spot to curl up and get lost in a book creates a space that will be used over and over again!
