With this project, I am requesting TIME for Kids subscriptions and non-fiction leveled readers. I will utilize these magazines and books to expose my students to topics and experiences that they otherwise may never be exposed to. We will learn about the world around us including people, places, and animals by exploring books and magazines that are exiting and new and fun. Vocabulary will be expanded, curiosity will be peaked. A sense of ownership will be key because each student will have their own magazine and this will foster engagement and excitement. By funding this project, you will expand the horizons for a group of students who struggle in life, who desire to experience life more fully, and who deserve to be exposed to the world around them in an academic setting.
