A set of 2 iPad mini's for our classroom would infinitely increase student learning and engagement during center time. I will use these iPads in many different ways. One way they will be used is during math and literacy centers students can access educational apps, including Epic! (An online resource for books), spelling bug, and math run: Panda Chase. All of these apps, and several more, will not only increase fluency with 2nd grade material but will also encourage students to continue learning. These students are part of a generation that has access to and thrives on technology; As a teacher it is my duty to play on their strengths and interests. These iPad's will not only help students in literacy and math, but also in history and science as we can use them for researching and projects. In addition, one of out classroom jobs is "photographer" to document our school year so students and parents have 2nd grade memories for years to come.
