Many students struggle with reading and decoding vocabulary and questions to decipher what the question is asking or how to even work the problem. Many times students say "I just can't do math." These activities will provide sample activities and word problems that allow the students to make real world connections so they can master the TEKS being taught. Students need to be able to read and understand so they can apply the concept and algorithms to the problem. Many students come from Spanish speaking homes and their parents aren't able to assist them in times of need. These activities will allow the students to take what is learned in the classroom and be able to apply it outside of the school.
