I have 12 scholars within my classroom walls every day. These students are bright, willing to work, and captivated by technology; technology that often makes writing and reading easier for my clientele. With these requested four Acer ChromeBooks, my students can soar with their reading and writing even more than I could explain to you. There are days when my scholars get "hung up" on a mistake they have made and can't erase completely. Most days we are not able to use the one computer lab that we have within the school, so students are writing using pen and paper. Now, this is not an issue for most and is a valid tool they will need going further in education. But I see their ideas, their thought processes, and their frustration level hit its peak when things aren't perfect. This hinders their progress on the assignments and their creative flow. They get focused on perfection instead of the task at hand and then get upset because they do not have time to finish their work. These Chrome Books would allow them to type their answers, keep their creative juices flowing, and not allow them to get "hung up" on messy papers. I will truly be able to see what they are able to do. We have time every single day for independent reading. These Chrome Books will also allow their books, which I can access online for them, to be read to them virtually if they need the assistance. These Chrome Books will further my scholars reading levels, fluency, and comprehension with the time given to each student every day.
