We use technology everyday in the classroom and with that comes independent reading and study time. Having a class set of headphones and a few alternative seats for reading books will help our entire class remain focused and excited about reading books online or studying on our online student resources. Earbuds are asked for at the beginning of the year, but most of them are poorly made and they get mixed up, and by the second quarter they are either missing or not working. Most of my students can’t afford another pair, and this would remedy that for them. Everyone would have a clean pair of over the ear headphones that can be sanitized and remain in class. The seats would help to designate independent readers and encourage taking time out to enjoy reading.
