I would like to teach 6th Grade History: Ancient Civilizations by utilizing interactive simulations. These simulations provide students with hands on learning experiences, rather than just learning through a textbook. They really allow students to experience key pieces of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome! This type of experience is an excellent way of teaching material to students, while also increasing student engagement. Without these supplies my 120+ students will not be able to experience and learn about ancient civilizations in a hands on manner. Instead, we will go the traditional textbook route, which does not allow students to get a full sense of these societies at the time. Unfortunately, I can't require or expect my students to come to school with the necessary materials needed for these notebooks. The reality is, my students rarely have the required pencils and paper.
