My classroom is a happy place. My students are greeted when they walk in however they choose (a hug, a high-five, a fist bump) and sit down with smiles on their faces. They put in hours of hard work every single day, and we celebrate their success every chance we get. My students are bright, creative, and intuitive, and make me proud every day. My classroom is a safe space. My students know that they can come to me about anything in their life - at school, at home, in another class - and I will do my best to help make it better. We learn social skills, like how to solve a problem if a grown-up isn't there, or how to talk about a disagreement. My students face challenges at school and at home, but take them on with bravery. 72% of students come from a low-income background, making the school a true Title I. Students know I will do everything in my power to help them be successful, and give them anything they need.
