My enthusiastic first graders would utilize bee-bots as a coding tool. They are currently working on their Project Lead the Way Computer Science module, trying "unplugged" activities- interactive activities designed to help students understand the importance of giving directions correctly. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in computer science and communication. These bee-bots would be used by groups of 3-4 students to bridge their experiences from interactive activities to programming on iPads. These collaborative groupings will allow my students to grow as critical thinkers as well as communicators. Since we are a STEAM school, students are learning to integrate technology into their learning. These bee-bots would be another technology tool they could become familiar with in order to deepen their understanding of computer programming and coding.
