A laptop for every student? “No way” you might be thinking. I am hoping that the phrase “if there is a will, there is a way” will ring true in this case! I am a determined, dedicated and driven educator who will do what it takes to make it so each of my students has daily access to a laptop computer. I am the gifted education teacher where I am focusing on STEM curriculum. In this ever-increasing technological world and with my curriculum focus, it is essential that students know how to use computers. The daily use of the laptops will help prepare my students for middle school, high school and for many, college. In order to make this goal a reality, I am planning to work fund two Lenovo Thinkpad computers at a time, until I reach my goal! A lofty goal yes, too lofty, no! Getting students hooked and engaged in school is a battle that every classroom teacher faces. Based on past experiences, I know that technology is one tool that always gets students engaged in learning. This is one of the reasons that I am working hard to fund the laptop computers, two at a time, for my students daily use. They will be taught how to use the laptops to conduct Internet research, use educational websites and create written documents and multimedia presentations. Using the computers for these tasks will save student time, while increasing productivity and learning. Thank you for your consideration and desire to make a difference in the lives of students! Through the generosity of people like you, eventually all of my deserving students will have the opportunity to have daily access to Lenovo laptop computers. By investing in these students, you are investing in the future of America!
