Incorporating three Ipods into my classroom will allow children to hear reading from a variety of authors. The children will be able to experience hearing stories that they may not be able to read on their own. Watching my first graders fall in love with reading is one of my greatest joys in teaching! When lost in a good book, you can travel and go on adventures that you never thought were possible. You can almost become another person for a moment in time. I currently use an old "boom box" that the children have to put CDs/ tapes into. This task alone is hard for first graders and is equally hard on my CDs and tapes. Having books on an Ipod will also allow me to add a greater variety of books and keep the titles up to date.
