Think about how you feel sitting on a plastic chair all day long? Now, imagine being a five year old sitting on that same chair in a classroom all day long. Sitting in a classroom all day long for the average five year old can be challenging at times. I would like for my students to have the opportunity to use a variety of seating options while they work and when they need to get their wiggles out. We currently have six scoop chairs in our room and my students are eager to use them when we are at carpet time and thrive when they have the opportunity. By adding wobble stools, wobble cushions, and balance ball chairs to our room, more students will be able to have the opportunity to use an alternative seating option at their table or during carpet time. I believe that my classroom will be a better learning environment for the students with these seating options.
