Reading about the diverse topics discussed in these books will commence important class discussions for students about themselves and the people they see in the world. All of these books were especially chosen with my students in mind. Not only will students be able to choose books that interest them, but also reflect the diversity that they see within themselves. This is especially important because of our history and everything happening in our world today!
