The COVID pandemic has affected almost half of my students' young lives. Most of my students are experiencing their first year in a school setting. Learning to play and learn together with new friends is new for most of them. I also have several students in my class who are learning to understand and speak English. Any type of sensory play I can safely bring my students would be a great way to encourage learning through creative play activities. It also helps encourage the development of language and fine motor skills. Our students have missed many developmental activities they normally would have had due to Covid-19. It has been necessary to change the way we do things in our classroom for safety precautions. These new materials will provide learning activities that can be easily cleaned and sanitized regularly to allow my students to enjoy safe sensory experiences, exploring, and practicing skills learned in the classroom.
