I offer two academic trips a year, but those who cannot afford to join us still deserve to be rewarded for their success. So, I give quarterly parties to the class with the highest averages and snack bags to the class with the most participation. My students are all college prep level, so there is no advantage academically. Each class has a class average and participation data wall so they can see their class progress. They also have data folders to track their individual accomplishments for each standard. As a team, they learn to encourage themselves to gain tasty rewards.
