Imagine sitting in a hard chair designed for someone larger or smaller than you. After about thirty minutes, you don't want to sit anymore. This is traditional classroom seating! I will be creating a more inviting and comfortable classroom space. The new seating will help students stay focused and be cozy at the same time. Research has shown the traditional classroom of hard chairs and desks are not suitable for optimum learning. Additionally, alternative seating has shown an improvement in student acedemics and behavior. Students are able to concentrate better when they have a comfortable seat that matches their learning styles. Students will be able to choose from a variety of seating styles including; bean bag chairs, yoga balls, wobble chairs, rockers, and of course the traditional chair. This style of seating will also incorporate collaboration. Students will be able to move around the classroom with eaze to work together with their peers.
