I am a first grade teacher in a rural area in Mississippi with a 30 minute block for science and social studies. I have about 21-25 students per class year. When it is time for science we have completed a 3 hour reading block and a 2 hour math block and we are tired. We need STEM activities to engage in our science centers. I am so excited. I will use each product, a Design & Build Engineering Center, Stand-Up Magnetic Design Center and Block Play STEM Early Learning Kit as a group center. We will rotate centers twice for 15 minutes each afternoon. Then we will record our observations in our science journals. My students will be junior scientists. That's very awesome. The Lakeshore products correlate with our K-2nd grade common core standards. My students have limited prior knowledge about science. This will give the chance to soar all throughout their science life 1-12th grade.
