Having technology readily available for my students will significantly increase their ability to complete tasks in the classroom. In today's world, technology plays a very important role, and unfortunately, my students are behind their peers in the use and knowledge of technological advances. Coming from a Title I school, technology in our classroom is very limited. We currently have 2 outdated desktops in our classroom of 39 students. We have a computer lab in the school, which we are able to visit for 30 minutes twice a week. Having access to iPads will not only expose my students to technology, which otherwise, they would not be exposed to; it will also allow them to conduct research on the spot for their writing assignments, find information on current events during our debate sessions, and watch assigned videos that will help them prepare for the following day's lesson. These iPads will open up a world of possibilities for them and their families.
