Although some students are able to learn and complete their work effectively in a traditional school setting many students benefit from moving around and choosing alternative seating. I want to provide my students with that choice. First graders already have a good idea on where they learn best and by providing them with seat choice I am empowering them. Once students leave the classroom they will be placed in an ever-changing world full of choices. My job is to guide them into making choices independently. Many flexible seating options also stimulate students' sense of touch. This can help students to focus and process information.

About my class
