My Kindergarten students need games and activities that focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, and writing, as well as math manipulatives to explore with at Learning Center time. My students will use these materials to master the Common Core Standards as well as to explore their ability through building, drawing, counting, making letters and sounds, and then words! These activities will be used during Learning Center times as well as during intervention times for those students that need the practice in achieving mastery of the standards. They will be able to use these manipulatives during our whole group and small group time, learning letters and sounds as they make words, numbers, and sets as we explore counting skills. Your generous donation to our project will improve our Kindergarten classroom by building a stronger reader, writer, and mathematician. This will enhance our students' education for the better. They will love school and feel successful at an early age while having fun learning! The use of learning centers is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math and literacy. Using the language and math instant centers, students will come to centers that are already prepared for them and are aligned with the kindergarten curriculum. This will provide reinforcement of skills taught. These centers allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide a way to assess their progress.
