We are piloting a combined 7th grade English class and 8th grade Mathematics project based learning classroom at CPS this coming school year. We've been approved and have a lot of interest in our PBL class; however, we need supplies to help our pilot year be successful. Throughout the year students will be building bridges, designing flags, building sets and much more. At the same time, students will be developing 21st century skills to help them grow as learners as they investigate authentic issues and topics found outside of school. During the inquiry process, students learn content, information and facts necessary to draw conclusion about the question. Students also learn valuable leadership skills and habits of mind during the process. The craft sticks and rubber cement will be used in our "Building Bridges" unit. The construction paper and markers will be used to create flags for our "Team Name" unit. We have very limited storage and our class space is often shared with other teachers. Supplies such as the Art Caddies and storage boxes will allow us to have all materials easily accessible when our students arrive in class.
