A building block center will allow an environment where children are free to explore and create. Having a center where children are able to build provides opportunities for the teacher to ask questions that allows the child to explain their thinking. Students will plan their project and then put their plan into action with a hands on opportunity. This process allows a child to reflect, learn and problem solve. Providing these materials to my class will allow learning to happen whole group, small group and individually. Giving students these opportunities will also help them learn to communicate and collaborate with one another.
