My students are in desperate need of current, STEM based learning materials. The biofuels kit, a biodiesel kit, a book, and other inquiry oriented supplies will not only help my students build their investigative skills, but will help them to better understand the future we may face. Alternative energy is still a growing field, and one that my students may even enter as career fields. In our agricultural based community we have been seeing a lot of changes. I am hoping that these projects will engage and inspire my students by giving them the foundational knowledge they need in Biofuel production and use. Perhaps this may even encourage more of our youth to seek out higher education and bring those new skills back to our community and help improve our small economy.
