Hello! My name is Mrs. Janssen and I teach fifth grade in a rural, farming community in Illinois. Our grade school is a K-8 building with less than 100 students. Next year I will have 10 students in my classroom. We have very little funding available to our school. Almost half of my class this upcoming school year have special needs. I started searching around on the internet for ways in which to provide my students with some of the resources that they will need next year, but our district is lacking the funds to provide. That is when I stumbled across Donorschoose.org. I was really impressed with the site and with how generous the donors were. My first project was fully funded in less than 24 hours. It felt like a miracle! I feel so blessed that I will be able to provide my students with some of the resources they will need to thrive in the classroom. I am so grateful I found the Donorschoose.org site!
