My students need fidget bands for the bottom of their chairs so they can move their legs while learning at their seats. Being able to do so will provide them with physical activity as well as mental activity. Studies have shown that students learn best and retain more information when they are able to move while they are learning. This project will change the morale and student engagement in my classroom. I will spend less time pausing lessons to correct negative behaviors due to excessive movement, and students will be more engaged because they will be able to move their feet and release their energy while still focusing on the task at hand.
