I am asking for 2 Chromebooks, 1 Kindle, a TV, and a DVD player. My students will use the requested Chromebooks, Kindle and program apps to allow them to read and write in my class. This will also help them with their other classes. Students will be able to create PowerPoint presentations, write essays and stories, do research on the projects that we work on and integrate math in various areas. The TV and DVD player will help my students watch educational videos and reflect on current events. Although we have access to cable in our classroom, my students do not get to benefit from this since our TV has stopped working. Our kids often do not have access to the kinds of technology that are prevalent in more affluent areas. They arrive in my classes without the basic computer skills that they will need in the future. This project will allow them to practice using programs such as PowerPoint, typing papers, and using various technology apps. They will also be able to integrate the Lakota Language into these applications.
