My students are currently enthralled in the book Because of Mr. Terupt. Every student in my class is able to connect with one of the students in the book and feels like they are actually a member of Mr. Terupt's classroom. Students are having high-level, engaging conversations about the text, and are challenging each other to think in new and different ways without even realizing they are becoming stronger readers! At the end of our reading time, it is common for my students to try to convince me to let them read on past their assigned pages. Having the next two books in the series (Saving Mr. Terupt and Mr. Terupt Falls Again) would allow my students to continue being hooked on the story of Mr. Terupt and will hopefully allow them to fall more in love with reading. It's amazing to watch and listen during reading time as students embark on a new part of Mr. Terupt's journey!
