One goal that I strive toward in my classroom is to encourage and mold creative, self-sufficient, organized students. I do this by teaching students how to use and keep track of notes, grades, projects and important dates in their interactive notebooks. This gives them a sense of ownership in their learning and, I hope, prepares them for high school and higher education. This year I would like to increase our use of interactive timelines, field trips and other internet tools to give them a more hands on approach to U.S. History. Donating to my project will give my students necessary materials and help their families to focus their resources on other needs for school. It will also create a new outlet for my students to be able to research, experience and create their very own history.
