In today's classroom, many students have difficulty maintaining attention and engagement while sitting in a regular old chair all day long. This is especially true of students with special needs. Students become empowered and learn best when they are given choice and have some control over their learning. This includes where and how they sit! Flexible seating offers students choice while still accommodating their needs and maintaining classroom organization. Flexible seating like core cushions, lap trays, and bean bags allow students to get the sensory input they need without distracting others or disrupting the classroom environment. We know that flexible seating will elevate the level of engagement in our classrooms and make it a fun place to learn, too!
