With these materials, my students will be able to better grasp the understanding of life cycles, living things and the world around them. Our classroom is broken up into centers; our science center currently consists of our class pets (Mr. Goldie Fishy, Gelgaw and Stecher (stick bugs) and our caterpillars) and various homemade materials. With these materials they will have the opportunity to work together to sequence life cycles, to build vocabulary and to interact cooperatively with peers. My students already love the science center and love to explore the world around them, making connections to their everyday lives; I know that having these materials will significantly increase their love and learning for science and exploration.
