Most of the students cannot afford to buy a graphing calculator so we try to provide access to them in class. The problem with this is that you need 35 calculators just to have a classroom set for the students. That is a lot of calculators for a low-income school to provide. With your help, I can have a classroom set of graphing calculators for students who genuinely need and want them. Math is hard enough, but when you take away the most important tool in a math classroom, math becomes unbearable. Most of my students do not have a strong mathematics background before they come to my class so I am left to try and bridge the gap while teaching new material that they are required to master before they can move on to the next class. It is very hard to show the students how to use the graphing calculator to help when you do not have enough calculators for every student. With a classroom set of graphing calculators, I can continue to improve my students' math abilities and give them the right tools they need to continue in their math education.
