Our students work very hard in order to achieve simple goals. They work through challenges that you and I never have to consider or experience (such as: the sound and glow of the lights buzzing overhead, the smell of a cleaning wipe or new hand sanitizer, the touch of a clothing tag on their skin) in order to maintain focus and composure while learning a new skill or reviewing and enhancing an old one. This project requests a Southwest Cotton Canvas Teepee, one activity mat, one 4-Panel Screen Divider, two Big Joe Chairs, one Body Sox, one Spa Relaxation Machine, and two Fiber Optics Lights. With these project items the students will be provided a quiet, peaceful, re-centering space; YOU will help THEM grow their skills and abilities. YOU will help them further their educational path. An autistic student who can access a safe place to regather and then re-enter the environment around them experiences a sense of positive self-ownership and self-esteem. Thank you for considering our project. We appreciate any help you are able to provide us towards our goal of a well-appointed sensory break area.
