My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds - some affluent, some at poverty level. One thing they all have in common is their desire to learn and do mathematics well. However, those students who cannot afford fancy calculators feel left out because they cannot perform computations the same way other students can. My students need a class set of scientific calculators to level the playing field of mathematics, so that everyone has an equal opportunity for learning. The donation of these scientific calculators would be of help to students in all levels of math, from basic algebra to advanced statistics.
