As we move into a more personalized learning era, students need to feel comfortable in their learning environment. As I teach my students to "sit where they learn best", alternative seating options are a priority. Currently, seating options in my classroom include tables and chairs for collaborating, traditional desks for individual work, moveable crate seats, and open floor space. This desk will offer an alternative workspace for students who need to get up and move around or for those who feel more comfortable standing while working on assignments. Additionally, this workspace would offer another option for collaborative work between pairs of students. Offering a variety of options allows students' diverse needs to be better met.
