Welcome to the Donors Choose page of Patrick Devery - history teacher at Frederick Douglass Academy I (FDA 1) in Central Harlem and volunteer coach for Harlem Lacrosse & Leadership (HLL). When HLL first started in my school, I helped to coach the middle school boys lacrosse teams. That experience showed me that consistent, high-quality academic programs work when you hook kids in using competitive sports teams. HLL's coaches work side-by-side with teachers, guidance counselors, and school administrators here at FDA.
