Our school is a very large and diverse middle school campus. Of our approximately 1700 students, 48% of our students are Hispanic. 28% are African-American, and 28% are White. 72% of our students are economically disadvantaged. I teach 7th grade, and this seems to be the age that students forget that they can love to read. They forget that they need reading for every content area and every occupation the pursue. We want to teach History and ELA together with this high interest, award-winning novel.

About my class
