I am a school media specialist with a very interactive library. My students visit the library, or media center, once a week for library lessons on topics varying from literacy to research. When the students finish their lesson and activity they go to learning "centers" that involve reading, analytical thinking, writing, now listening to reading thanks to generous donors! My centers include magnetic shapes where students can explore and build. A games center filled with board games, play dough, and puzzles. A writing center where students can write stories, small books, or cards for friends and family. I also have a reading and computer center as well. My students have the opportunity to continue learning and growing while having some fun too! My library isn't the quiet type!!
