Students in grades second through fifth grade will utilize the iPads to develop their programming skills through various, challenging projects requiring them to navigate their robots through, self built mazes, obstacle courses, and ramps. They will be assessed by how accurately they can navigate the the maze without hitting the sides, and by how fast they can get through the maze. Students will use the iPads to program a variety of robots using the coding language of Blockly. Programming teaches and reinforces students creativity, perseverance, math skills, and sequential thinking. Students will work in teams to build communication and problem solving skills.
