My classroom has the typical desks and chairs for students. I have an 55 gallon aquarium in my room which I teach the Trout In The Classroom concept all year. Due to my enjoyment of teaching science, I have a science experiment table in the classroom as well. There are times I need to do small groups work and I have a kidney shaped table in the back of the room. To allow students the flexibility to sit where they like, at times, some will choose to sit on the rug near my interactive whiteboard. Through a local carpeting store, I asked for those sample rug segments and have those in the room for students to utilize. I had 22 students and I allow them to move within the room to make themselves successful as long as it doesn't distract other students. One more thing, to desensitize my classroom, I purchased those blue lighting materials to go over the harsh bright lights.
