We have seen an amazing increased rate of progress and engagement in our fifth grade students with the use of technology, specifically laptop computers. Students use these laptops to interact with new knowledge, discover information they have never considered, increase their math skills, research topics of interest relate to our curriculum, explore possible science fair projects, and so much more! The more we are able to put students together with a laptop, the more they soar. For example, one of our students, who has been considered low achieving in the past, increased his Lexile (reading) score by 555 points this school year alone! That progress would normally occur over several years! We are reaching those who are reluctant to push themselves further than their comfort level, and giving those who are ready to soar tools that they can use to achieve at their highest possible rate! Due to declining public school budgets, it is not within our reach to ask for laptops for each student to use in our own classrooms. Currently, we need to share the few laptops we have available to use with the entire school, which limits the amount of time we can access them each week. With your help, we can make that dream come true and provide the best possible advantage to our students. This a dream that is within our reach with your generous support!
