My students enjoy getting lost in their latest book. They also like to get comfortable while reading. Students spend time each day in my room reading their own choice book. Having the opportunity to read a book they have self-selected helps to promote a love of books. Many students prefer to sit or lay on the floor while they read. Our school just replaced our old, dated, and drab carpet with linoleum. It is not the most comfortable surface to sit on for extended periods of time. I want to be able to still have my students get cozy while they are enjoying their reading.
