I would love to have a sand tray for my students to use. Research and data supports how Sand Play Therapy can help children dealing with trauma, abuse, and or neglect. Sand Play can also help children work through their emotions without using words. Often it is difficult for children to verbalize what they are feeling, but they can show you through play and art. A sand tray would facilitate another form of expression for ALL students regardless of native language. These materials would help students have access to what they need to help their social and emotional well being.
