The foam counters will be used to model multiplication problems using equal groups. This is the basis for multiplication understanding! The flashcards will help students practice fact fluency. Instruction over time and fractions is very difficult without hands-on models. I'll use the cardstock and laminating pouches to create a set of fraction bars for each kid. These are always one of my most used manipulatives each year in my classroom. Fractions are so abstract, and this really helps kiddos picture what they're learning. Base ten blocks, dry erase boards, highlighters, and sticky notes will be used in daily instruction and will be accessed at school AND at home if we switch to NTI.
