I have been lucky enough to teach some amazing kids over the last 15 years! i have worked in the Oakdale School community for 13 years now. This year I have 17 amazing young learners. They are eager to learn and explore the world around them. We put more and more demands on our students which require them to sustain their attention for longer periods of time. 5 year olds need to be able to move through out the day to help increase their focus. I offer flexible seating for my students so they can move through out the day while still focusing on the lessons and their work. They love being able to choose their seating. This gives them a sense of independence and puts them in charge of identifying what they need to sustain their attention. Flexible seating has increased my students academic performance, positive behaviors, and their core strength.
