My students are enthusiastic learners. Their personalities are larger than life and we make the perfect team. I am the teacher of 20 students in a school located in an area of New Bedford with an extremely high poverty rate. 100% of the students in my school receive free breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have been teaching for almost 20 years and it is my first year teaching in this school. The comparison between this school to others I have taught has opened my eyes to see how fortunate students in other schools are with respect to supplies, donations from parents, and resources provided. The ability for me to solely purchase supplies and resources needed is beyond my means to meet the areas of need within my new classroom this year. My children deserve supplies, technology, and resources that would help them achieve life-long skills. I appreciate any donation in helping create an equal-opportunity classroom.
